Certified Ethical Hacker

The Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) credentialing and training program provided by EC-Council is a respected and trusted ethical hacking program in the industry.

The purpose of ethical hacking is to evaluate the security of and identify vulnerabilities in systems, networks or system infrastructure. It includes finding and attempting to exploit any vulnerabilities to determine whether unauthorized access or other malicious activities are possible.

Overview

Ethical hackers generally find security exposures in insecure system configurations, known and unknown hardware or software vulnerabilities as well as operational weaknesses in process or technical countermeasures.

This course provides the tools and techniques used by hackers and information security professionals alike to break into any computer system. It will immerse you into a “Hacker Mindset” in order to teach you how to think like a hacker and better defend against future attacks. It puts you in the driver’s seat with a hands-on training environment employing a systematic ethical hacking process. You are constantly exposed to creative techniques of achieving optimal information security posture in the target organization; by hacking it! You will learn how to scan, test, hack and secure target systems. The course covers the Five Phases of Ethical Hacking, diving into Reconnaissance, Gaining Access, Enumeration, Maintaining Access, and covering your tracks.

 

The Purpose of the CEH credential is to:

  • Establish and govern minimum standards for credentialing professional information security specialists in ethical hacking measures.

  • Inform the public that credentialed individuals meet or exceed the minimum standards.

  • Reinforce ethical hacking as a unique and self-regulating profession.

Course Prerequisites
At least two years of IT security experience
A strong working knowledge of TCP/IP
CompTIA Security+ Course (SY0-501)
